Social Hygiene Exam Prep in English
Preparing for the Dutch Sociale Hygiëne exam in English? How the exam works and how to prepare online.
To manage a bar or restaurant in the Netherlands you often need the Sociale Hygiëne qualification. You get it by passing an exam with SVH or SDEN, then registering in the Register Sociale Hygiëne.
What Sociale Hygiëne covers
- The Dutch Alcohol Act (Alcoholwet): licences, age limits and the role of the manager
- The effects of alcohol and drugs
- Hospitality and handling difficult guests
- Running a responsible business and preventing problems
How our course fits in
Our online course is exam preparation, not the diploma. It costs about €40. The official exam is booked and paid for separately with SVH or SDEN.

- Book the exam with SVH or SDEN.
- Pass the exam and receive the diploma from the exam body.
- Register in the Register Sociale Hygiëne.
